Tate Saurey, MD is an ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon dedicated to bringing state-of-the-art eye care to his community. He performs over a thousand cataract and glaucoma surgeries each year and is recognized for delivering excellent outcomes through precision surgery and a personalized approach. Dr. Saurey specializes in sutureless cataract surgery, premium lens implants, astigmatism correction, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), oculoplastic procedures, and the management of complex ocular disease, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington and completed residency at the University of South Carolina, where he served as Academic Chief Resident and lead the nation in number of surgeries completed by a resident surgeon. Dr. Saurey is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Campbell University School of Medicine, a published researcher, and committed to restoring vision locally and globally.

Dr. Saurey frequently volunteers his talents to support surgical mission trips internationally, and volunteers his time and resources to support global and local charity organizations. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his outstanding commitment to service and volunteer work. He is fluent in Spanish and certified as an advanced medical translator. 

Dr. Saurey enjoys mountain biking, fishing, boating, and most of all, spending time with his wife and 3 children.
